How to Wear a Thigh Prosthesis Using the Easy Pull Sleeve
- Place the prosthetic easy pull sleeve onto the residual limb. Ensure the sleeve is flat and free of wrinkles. The upper edge should cover the root of the thigh, with the back covering the ischial tuberosity area.
- Remove the valve from the prosthetic socket.
- Insert the distal end of the easy pull sleeve banner into the prosthetic socket.
- Guide the far end of the roll-up banner out through the valve opening.
- Insert the residual limb into the prosthetic socket.
- Stand upright and straighten the prosthesis. Hold the prosthesis with one hand to prevent joint bending, and gently pull out the easy pull sleeve with the other hand. Light movement of the sound leg may help the residual limb move smoothly into position.
- Once the sleeve is fully removed, adjust the skin around the upper edge of the socket, then reinstall the valve.
